Datuk Adrian Soon Boon Yee

Datuk Adrian Soon Boon Yee graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western Illinois University, United States of America with a Bachelor of Business degree, majoring in Finance.

Upon graduation, he started his career serving a foreign financial institution for 13 years, rising to the position of National Sales Director for loan products at a relatively young age.

Subsequently, Datuk Adrian joined a local banking group as General Manager overseeing loan operations for sales & outsourced channels, a role he held for more than 5 years prior to joining Amalan Setar (M) Sdn. Bhd., a property development company, as a Director in September 2013.

Datuk Adrian is also currently Chairman of Suria Muhabat Sdn. Bhd., a currency exchange company governed by Malaysian Association of Money Services Businesses under the purview of Bank Negara Malaysia, the Malaysian banking regulatory authority.

Datuk Adrian has accumulated more than two decades of experience in the banking industry, during which he established strong working relationships with various financial institutions. His extensive banking career has equipped him with experience and expertise in a variety of fields including finance, sales & marketing, credit & risk management, audit & compliance, and debt management.

Datuk Adrian has also been very active in social impact work. He joined the Malaysian Leprosy Relief Association (MaLRA) in 2013 and was elected to the Executive Committee in 2022.

In recognition of Datuk Adrian’s contributions to the nation and society, he was conferred with the decoration Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (Companion 2nd Class of the Exalted Order of Malacca – D.P.S.M.) which carries the title “Datuk” on the occasion of the 71st birthday of His Excellency the Governor of Malacca Tun Seri Setia Mohd. Ali Mohd. Rustam in 2020.
